UMA uses sophisticated CAD software to transform ideas and information into reality, backed by CNC machining, laser profile cutting, and MIG and TIG fabrication. Custom polyurethanes are produced using cutting-edge chemical technology with automated chemical dispensing, giving consistent material properties batch to batch.

We don’t simply copy the part. Many UMA components carry deliberate design improvements over the original: thicker sections where wear is heaviest, reversible geometry that doubles usable life, and individually replaceable wear elements so the whole assembly doesn’t have to be scrapped.

Applications

Where polyurethane earns its place

Polyurethane makes an excellent lining material across a wide range of components — from bucket liners to conveyor rollers and pipes. Scraper blades and impellers are prime candidates, as are pump linings and grading screens. Protective capping devices, one-off seals and custom-made wear strips can be supplied for specific applications.

Other common applications include agitators, classification screens, crossover pads and hydrocyclones. Abrasion has the potential to be highly dangerous in mining because of sparking in the presence of flammable and explosive gases — polyurethane removes that risk.
